CBD Shows Promise in Alzheimer's Study

The study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease found that a two week course of high dose CBD "reduces levels of the immune protein IL-6, which is associated with the high inflammation levels found in Alzheimer’s".

The researchers said the next steps include determining optimal doses and giving CBD earlier in the disease process. For this study CBD was given in the late stages. They also are looking at other administration methods such as an inhaler that can help deliver the CBD more directly to the brain, without going through the liver.
