Cannabis Use: HIV-Negative Men Show Lowered Inflammation Markers

"CRP (mean blood C-reactive protein, an inflammatory biomarker) was significantly lower among (HIV-negative) participants reporting frequent marijuana use, relative to those reporting never using marijuana."

195 gay men aged 16-29 in Chicago were the subjects of this study dated March 1, 2021. The results did NOT show the same lower CRP levels in HIV-positive men, however. "Frequent" cannabis use was described as 6 or more times per month.
