Unlike Tobacco & Alcohol, Cannabis Use Does Not Contribute to Atherosclerosis
The "odds" ratio for tobacco users was 87% MORE likely, while the cannabis users were 13% LESS likely than the control group to get atherosclerosis. This is based on a peer reviewed study in December 2020.
“This study adds to the growing body of evidence that there might be no association between the average population level of marijuana use and subclinical atherosclerosis”. Other studies have shown that tobacco and frequent alcohol use DO contribute to hardening of the arteries.
