Cannabis & chronic neuropathic pain (review study)

This study examined existing research to determine the effect of cannabinoids on sleep quality, pain intensity, and patient impression of treatment efficacy in patients with neuropathic pain. It was published in December 2022 in the journal Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine.

Eight randomized controlled trials were included in the analysis. Six showed significant improvement in sleep quality and eight showed a significant reduction in pain scores.

The author's conclusions:

Meta-analysis of data from six studies showed that cannabinoids were associated with a significant improvement in sleep quality

Meta-analysis of data from eight studies showed a significant reduction in daily pain scores in the cannabinoid (CB) group
